Twitter Founder Regrets Turning The Platform Into A Company

Twitter founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted on Thursday that he regrets turning the social media platform into a business, according to a Reuters report.

"My biggest problem and my biggest regret are that Twitter has become a company," Dorsey said. Dorsey's statement came in response to a question if Twitter has transformed the way it was initially conceptualized.

When asked what organizational structure he would like Twitter to operate under, Dorsey said it should be "protocol" and that Twitter should not be owned by another state or company.

The meaning of Twitter becoming a protocol is that it becomes much like email, which is not controlled by a single central entity, and people who use different email providers can communicate with each other.

Dorsey is expected to receive $978 million if billionaire Elon Musk agrees to buy Twitter. The company is suing Musk for trying to abandon his $44 billion bid to buy Twitter.
