Plastic Surgeries That Add Centimeters To Your Height For $150,000
After some people resorted to plastic surgery to change some of their body appearances to suit their tastes, short people have found a new type of surgery to add some centimeters to their height.
According to a surgeon in Las Vegas, USA, leg lengthening surgery can increase a person's height by 7 to 15 centimeters.
Because these surgeries are very expensive, experts in major technology companies, such as Google, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft, have become among the most prominent customers of this type of surgery, which costs between 75,000 and 150,000 dollars.
Kevin Depiparshad founded the LimbplastX Institute in 2016, and his clinic business flourished during the Corona epidemic. He explained that many of his patients are technology employees.
Dipiparshad revealed that the common denominator among his clients is that they are wealthy, among whom we find CEOs, representatives, and employees in the financial sector.
Also, a group of high-income technology workers, mostly men, resorted to him to perform this type of operation, to the extent that he said joking, "I can start a technology company, there are about 20 software engineers doing this now."
According to experts, the stereotype that men viewed cosmetic surgical interventions has begun to fade in recent years, as cosmetic surgeries in men rose by 325 percent between 1997 and 2015, according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Cosmetic surgery interventions are becoming more frequent among tech workers in Silicon Valley. The Washington Post reported in January 2020 that men are resorting to Botox, fillers, laser treatments, and techniques that aim at stimulating collagen to keep progressing in their professional life.
However, the founder of the Limblast X Institute said that he does not recommend this procedure to athletes, as it reduces their professional athletic ability.
How does the process work?
According to what was reported by specialists in this surgery, the doctor breaks the thigh bones and inserts adjustable metal screws, which are slightly extended daily for 3 months using a magnetic remote control device.
The process of lengthening the bones and healing the legs takes a few months, and the cost reaches $150,000, depending on how many centimeters a person wants to get.
However, an expert in orthopedic surgery says that the operation has several risks, such as long-term nerve damage, joint stiffness, chronic pain, and pulmonary embolism.
The expert adds, "Although this surgery is compared to other cosmetic procedures such as facelift, rhinoplasty, and breast augmentation, I would like to add a word of caution because the risk factor is not in the same dimension and is somewhat higher. It is really touching to know if anyone feels weakened by his height, and he feels like he's looking to pay an orthopedic to break his bones, just to get that extra dose of confidence and a sense of completeness."
